Ok, here's the deal: Does it really mean anything to kill off a character in the Marvel 616 universe anymore? If you didn't know that <! --- SPOILERS --- !> Spider-Man is "killed off" in the now infamous ASM #700, then you probably don't have an internet connection, and/or hate social media.
I think to completely grasp the events that happen in ASM #700, you have to also read Avenging Spider-Man #15.1. It wasn't until I read the latter of the two that I began to grasp where Marvel was heading with this new plot twist. Essentially, #15.1 is a Superior Spider-Man #0.
So fanboys and fangirls, get over it. Spidey is "dead." If we have learned anything in the past... well... year even (remember when Johnny Storm "died"?), it's that nothing is permanent and it does make for some fun plot twists and turns.
I gave both books an iFanboy rating of 4/5 stars.
Cool vs Stool = Cool (but only if you don't get butt hurt about it)
