I love that Marvel is embracing the LBGT community. In doing so, they are able to tap into dialogue and quips from which television and movies have also been using (can you even count the
Grinder references NBC has used this season?). Most notable is
Avengers Academy. This "teen" title has gay cast members, and they are really starting to have fun with the culture. Here is a panel from #29, as the demi-god Hercules is teaching the Cadette about the origin of the Olympics.

If you haven't read my post on
LGBT teen characters in comic books, I hope that this doesn't seem as if the writers of these stories are just trying to cash in a "trend." Just to show how needed these stories are and how accurately portrayed (is that an oxymoron - real-life superhero stories?) they are, here is an example of the
